Sultan Mehmed V

Mehmed V Resad or Mahommed V, (November 2, 1844 – July 3, 1918), known as Reshid Effendi or Mehmed Resad before accession, was the sultan of the Ottoman empire from April 27, 1909 to 1918 after his elder brother Abdul-Hamid II was forced to abdicate.

Constantinople was under military occupation at the time of Mehmed’s death there (it was also his birthplace).
