World War 1 Posters

Posters had a tremendous impact on the course of the fighting for every country involved in World War 1.

Posters were also used during World War 1 to recruit soldiers by appealing to men’s traditional protective role and to urge civilians to contribute to the repayment of war loans and conserve resources.

War posters were also used to boost soldier morale, muster national pride, and to demonize and demoralize the enemy.
